The first time I’d ever heard of the concept of self-love, I immediately equated it with narcissism. I didn’t understand that self-love is not an aggrandizing way of regarding oneself. Self-love meant taking care of your mind, body, spirit, and other aspects of your life by cultivating happiness and not overextending yourself when helping others. It is simply treating yourself with the same love and respect that you give others.
